“You reversed self-eulogizing Into a swirling dance.” We are told of healing from an illness that took the Psalter to the edge of death. We are not told the nature of the illness, whether physical or emotional. We are told that the Psalter found a reversal toward fortune by turning to God. Reading this Psalm brought AA meetings to my mind where participants speak of hitting bottom and rising toward stability by turning their lives over to a “Higher Power.” Verse seven, reads, “As for me, I said in my ease, ‘I shall not stumble ever.’” The before and after that middle verse recognizes the need for humility and dependence for enduring strength.
