Saturday, August 10
Ma’ariv: 8pm
Followed by the reading of the Book of Lamentations by candlelight
Sunday, August 11
Shaharit: 9:10am
We continue our solemn fast-day observance for Shaharit, Torah reading, chanting from the Book of Lamentations and the recitation of Kinot (special poetry composed for Tisha B’Av).
Minha: 5:30pm
Join us for the Tisha b’Av afternoon service. This is the only time of the year when tallit and t’fillin are worn during minha.
*Traditional observance is to abstain from eating, drinking, bathing, wearing perfume, wearing leather shoes, and engaging in physical intimacy from Saturday night until Sunday night. Some people also do not greet others during this time.
