A tribute to Elie Wiesel followed by the reading of the Book of Lamentations read by candlelight in honor of Tisha B’av.
Sunday, August 14
Shaharit: 9:10am at CBI in the main sanctuary
We continue our solemn fast-day observance joined by members from Temple Beth Emet and Temple Beth El for Shaharit (without tallit and t’fillin), Torah reading, chanting from the Book of Lamentations and the recitation of Kinot (special poetry composed for Tisha b’Av).

Congregation B’nai Israel and Temple Beth Emet will join Temple Beth El in Aliso Viejo for the Tisha b’Av afternoon service. This is the only time of the year when tallit and t’fillin are worn during minha. Please join us.
*It is traditional to abstain from eating, drinking, bathing, wearing perfume, wearing leather shoes (many people wear crocs or flip flops), and engaging in sexual relations from Saturday night until Sunday night. Some people also do not greet others during this time.
