Small groups are your opportunity to deepen friendships through conversations on meaningful topics. This is our fifth Small Group’s Discussions.
This year’s focus is on Professor Ron Wolfson’s book, The Seven Questions You’re Asked in Heaven: Reviewing and Renewing Your Life on Earth. Wolfson teaches Jewish education at the University of Judaism and is a visionary teacher on “Relational Judaism.” The author’s conversational and personal wisdom in addressing seven essential questions posed in the Talmud resonated with Rabbi Spitz as a book to share with you. Wolfson is the mentor/friend who encouraged Rabbi Spitz to launch our initial Small Group Discussions.
A copy of the book and the guideline booklet are free to all hosts and participants. Hosts can choose to distribute books to their group members, or, ask their group members to pick up books at the CBI office. If you are unable to get to the office, please let us know, and we will arrange for delivery.
Please consider hosting a virtual group which could be as small or large as you would like. The success of this process depends on hosts who ask friends to join with them in conversation. Let us know if you would like to host and let us know if you would like additional participants in your group.
Everyone is welcome. If you would like to participate but do not have a group, we are happy to find one for you.
We are suggesting that discussion groups begin soon after Yom Kippur. A culminating event will be held with Dr. Ron Wolfson on January 13, 2021.
If you’d like to host or would like to be matched with a group, please contact the office or Batia Swed (Batiaswed@gmail.com; 714-624-5581).
Blessings to you of a New Year of 5781 of health, great conversations, and joy.

PS. We would like to thank Barbara Baim for her contribution in honor of her beloved husband and our actively generous congregant, Joe Baim, z”l, who enabled so many of our synagogue events and facilitated the gifts of books for Small Groups from the very inception.
