Debate: Peter Beinart v. Daniel Gordis

Rabbi Elie Spitz will moderate a debate highlighting contrasting viewpoints on Israel by leading voices Daniel Gordis and Peter Beinart. They have engaged in three public debates so far, marked by thoughtfulness, sharp distinction, civility, and rave reviews.

Daniel Gordis’ most recent book is Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn. He serves as Senior VP of Shalem, a liberal arts college in Jerusalem and is an active editorialist for the Jerusalem Post and other widely-read periodicals. He is a recent winner of the National Jewish Book Award for his book Menachem Begin: The Battle for Israel’s Soul.

Peter Beinart is an Associate Professor of Journalism and Political Science at City University of New York and a Senior Columnist at Haaretz. He contributes to The Atlantic and National Journal and is a CNN Political Commentator and a Senior Fellow at The New America Foundation. He has authored three books: The Good Fight, The Icarus Syndrome, and The Crisis of Zionism.

 

 

 

Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Plan to arrive early, as we expect a large attendance and will start promptly.

Tickets
Tickets will be available at the door the evening of the event. All tickets purchased after August 27th will be at Will-Call.

Parking and Entry
Arrangements have been made with the City of Tustin to allow parking on Bryan Avenue, Parkcenter Lane, and Browning Avenue. Entrance to the debate will be at the east (Parkcenter Lane) side doors only. Directions and a map are available at the bottom of this page. Please plan on extra time for parking.
