Dear CBI Family,
While many of us have had to cancel our Passover seders, or include only our immediate family, we all still need Kosher for Pesach food! OC Kosher remains open and is still offering to help support our religious school with a SHOPPING DAY on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 1, 9am-6:30pm.
Please visit OC KOSHER on APRIL 1st and don’t forget to mention CBI! You can call in your order ahead of time: (714) 838-3108 and arrange for pick up on April 1st.
Even during these unique times, our religious school teachers remain hard at work (from home) creating online lessons for our students. We are learning about Passover and helping our students keep up with their Hebrew skills from home. Carl Cedar and I are live streaming our Sunday morning tefillah for all our students to participate in and enjoy with their families. Everyone is welcome to join us!
We will reschedule our Golden Dreidle shopping day once the virus emergency has passed. While some reports say it will get worse before it gets better, please remember that it will GET BETTER!
Last week during tefillah, I encouraged our students and families to say 100 blessings every day. Now more than ever, that special Jewish practice can help us get through each day feeling grateful for our homes, for food, for our families, for our pets, for reading, for walking, and for our health. Stay strong friends, and please reach out if you need help.
Thank you for shopping at OC Kosher and supporting our Religious School students and teachers.
Learning Continues…
From every person and from every situation, we learn. During these challenging times, I am learning about kindness, patience, and the value of community.
Learning our Jewish traditions and values are an important part of our community. They bind us together even when we are apart.
Fortunately, we live in an age when we can still gather from a distance. Technology allows us to see each other, talk to one another, and even pray together.
Our CBI Religious School teachers are also learning. They are creating lessons via Zoom and our children will soon receive invites to attend “virtual CBI school.” Our b’nai mitzvah tutoring continues with Skype and Facetime.
I am looking forward to connecting with all our school families while I work from home. I want to know how you are and how we can help you. Please feel free to email me, rfoonberg@cbi18.org or call me, 657-247-8455.
Refuah Shleimah – may we all experience a complete healing so that we may be together again in our sanctuary and our classrooms. And may we all continue to learn together in every way possible.
With Gratitude,
Rabbi Robin Foonberg
